Ford has taken Hybrid to the C-Max

Ford has taken Hybrid to the C-Max

For years, Ford has been known for its line of SUVs, the F-150 and the Mustang. Now, Ford is taking it to a new level with their Hybrid masterpiece the C-Max. The Ford C-Max Hybrid is undoubtedly one of the best hybrid models for sale in the U.S.

The C-Max Hybrid has plenty of power and is quite responsive under all sorts of driving situations. The C-Max handles very well and delivers a comfortable ride on many different road conditions. It is also quite maneuverable in tight spaces, which is a big plus in city driving. All while having the space to hold all your passengers, luggage and there is a good amount of cargo space.

At the center of the C-Max is its powertrain. Its powertrain is a combination of a gas engine and a battery-driven electric motor. The C-Max Hybrid has an extended range just off of battery power and the lithium-ion battery pack is gets charged when the gas engine is in operation. Lithium-ion battery packs also are more efficient than the nickel-metal-hydride batteries used in first-generation hybrid vehicles, they are smaller and lighter. The battery becomes charged while braking, which requires no need to plug-in the car to charge.

Ford uses their power-split technology to allow the C-Max Hybrid to travel in electric mode at higher speeds than any other hybrid. Using the electric mode, it allows an overall 42 miles per gallon in city driving and 37 mpg on the highway.

The C-Max’s exterior has a functional quality that seems to enhance the vehicle’s no-nonsense appeal. The higher roofline increases the interior space for people a storage and makes the trunk larger than its comparable counter parts. The larger than normal hatch can be opened with either the hands-free foot sensor or the key fob.

The driver experiences more plenty of head room and a larger area of visibility, making it comfy on both long and short trips. The technology and Sync3 infotainment system is taken straight from the rest of Ford’s line of quality vehicles. Including park-assist, push button start, voice activated navigation and 911 Assist. Some of the C-Max’s other driver assist tech is” curve control” which slows the car in a curve when using cruise control and “Torque Vectoring Control” to help you accelerate through a turn when necessary.

The C-Max Hybrid is very likable, very efficient and with a price tag under $25,000, a very affordable vehicle that is well worth consideration by anyone looking for an interesting compact car. Interested in getting a Ford C-Max? Check out our inventory and contact us now to get yours today.
